Detox and Yoga Retreats

The Yoga Detox Retreats are held at a small family-run hotel in Faralya - a village near the resort down of Olu Deniz and the local town of Fethiye. The nearest airport is Dalaman - one and a half hour’s drive away. Positioned on the side of a mountain, high above the Agean Sea, the hotel has magnificent views of the ocean and sky.

The hotel is situated on the Lykian Way - an ancient footpath that was used as a trade route between Fethiye and Antalya, and which in recent years, has been resurrected as a walking trail for walkers and hikers - so there are many beautiful walks in the area. The ocean is about a 30 minute walk away - along the road or following a trail through the forrest... (or the hotel can drive you down). The hotel also boasts a swimming pool, and so the option is always there to simply lounge on a sun-lounger, or doze in one of the hammocks in the shade.

The yoga-shala is spacious and cool and will be the meeting point at least twice a day for Yoga classes. It may also be a gathering point for talks on nutrition and healthy living. The organic gardens around the hotel supply a lot of the fruit and vegetables for the juices - the rest come from the local farmersʼ market - organic wherever possible. The hotel staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and always willing to accommodate the needs of the guests. All one needs to do is let go and relax...

The Detox Programme

This is a powerful detoxification programme, with an emphasis on cleansing, healing and strengthening the digestive system. It is a liquid only fast (fruit and vegetable juices, broth, water), assisted by bentonite clay, psyllium husk, specific cleansing herbs and the optional use of enemas.

The majority of people have build-ups of hardened toxic deposits on the intestinal wall, and through this detox program such deposits are removed - restoring optimum intestinal functioning. The improved peristalsis movement affects the entire digestive tract, aiding elimination and purification. This leads to improved health on all levels.
Depending on individual needs, there are also opportunities for even deeper cleansing and healing: the programme offers an optional

* liver flush
* kidney flush
* candida treatment.

After the detox, acidophilus is provided to replace the friendly bacteria in the colon.
The programme also includes a trip to the local ʻhamamʼ (Turkish bath) where the skin will be thoroughly cleansed with a steam, exfoliation and scrub, and this is followed by a relaxing oil massage.
When old toxins are removed from the system, emotions, and memories can also arise before being released, and the Yoga and meditation practice can serve as helpful tools to bring about balance and harmony on all levels – physical, mental and spiritual.

There will be talks and discussion on healthy eating and life-style habits, as well as on Yoga philosophy and meditation.
Body-work is also on offer: Therapeutic massage, Thai Yoga massage, Reflexology and Reiki (the cost of treatments is not included and ranges between £30 and £60).
