Yoga Holiday on the Paradise Island of Koh Lipe
May 3 - 10 and May 10 - 17 - 2012
The hidden island of Koh Lipe lies in the south of Thailand in the Andaman sea is where you will find all the ingredients of a tropical paradise: sun, turquoise blue sea, brightly colored fish, hammocks, white powder sand, palm trees, and no roads or cars. Besides the yoga classes you can enjoy a Thai massage, the rich underwater world, the delicious and healthy Thai kitchen and the friendliness in the land of smiles. Or hire a boat and discover the surrounding small islands in the National Tarutao Marine Park and find your own private beach. Experience the ultimate island feeling and leave it all to the simple life of yoga, eating, swimming and sleeping.
The Holiday
The program starts on a Thursday afternoon and ends the following Thursday after breakfast. Every day there will be yoga classes in the morning and early evening on a yoga deck with sea view. After the morning classes we serve a healthy breakfast of fresh fruit, yoghurt and muesli. The remaining time can be filled in as you like, for example diving, snorkeling, a Thai massage or relaxing on one of the white sparkling beaches. And in the evening eating a delicious Thai curry or freshly caught fish with your feet in the sand and with the sound of the sea on the background.
The Yoga
This week of yoga is suitable both for beginners and also for those who already have experience and who are looking to deepen their knowledge. Your teacher will be Keira Coleman who is Irish and who has been living in Thailand for ten years and has her own yoga studio on Koh Phi Phi. Keira has been practicing yoga for over ten years. She was first introduced to it while living in NYC where she found it a great outlet for the stress that accompanies life in any big city. She completed her yoga teaching training with The Yoga Institute in India and combines in her lessons both Hatha and Asthanga yoga. Keira is also a diving instructor. Yoga has a great influence on the control of breathing that is essential while diving.
